Jean-Boris Lacroix

French, 1902 - 1984

Jean-Boris Lacroix was born in 1902 in France, descendent from a Russian czarist family from Saint-Petersburg. His design career began in 1920 when he started working with Paul Dumas. His formal training was completed with Madeleine Vionnet where he designed for her various houses from 1925 to 1930. Lacroix met J.M. Frank, Jean Dunand, Pierre Chareau and also created furniture himself. He worked mostly to perfect his use of glass and metal and produced chandeliers, sconces, lamps and other goods. He passed in 1984.
