Description
This is an original 1927 Arizona Biltmore Chair designed by KEM Weber. The detailed inlaid striping in the wood is in par with the luxurious quality of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel. Albert Chase McArthur, a former apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright, completed the famed Biltmore Hotel in 1929 with the consultation of his mentor, FLW. The furniture designed for the interiors of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel was created by his brother, Warren McArthur and KEM Weber. Warren McArthur’s designs for the hotel for the most part incorporated wrought iron, while KEM Weber’s utilized wood, maple and leather upholstery. KEM Weber was also the designer of Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, creating a luxurious streamline moderne atmosphere. Today many of his creations in furniture and industrial design objects are held in the 20th century design departments of major museums.
