Marc Fish
Todd Merrill Studio is pleased to represent renowned UK-based designer Marc Fish.
Fish’s unique works possess a timelessness that allows them to integrate seamlessly into almost any space. While the curvilinear forms of Fish’s works harken back to Art Nouveau, his process pushes the limits of twenty-first-century furniture design. Fish draws inspiration from natural forms, often exploring the Victorian obsession with natural history.
Since founding his studio over fifteen years ago, Fish has established himself as a designer to watch. His use of the finest timbers and veneers, his understanding of woodworking and metal fabrication, and his attention to detail set him apart from the standard cabinet maker, attracting the attention of designers, critics, and collectors worldwide. Fish has received two distinctions from City & Guilds in Furniture Making and Computer Aided Design. Additionally, Fish has been awarded four prestigious Guild Marks by The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, one of the livery companies of London. In 2011, he was the recipient of the Claxton Stevens award, the highest honor bestowed by The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. He is now on the panel of judges for the Guild Mark awards.
As Fish only creates a few select designs per year, his work is in high demand. Custom designs may be commissioned.
