Description
Oil on Masonite painting by the Russian/American artist Nahum Tschacbasov.
Signed middle right and dated 1955. It depicts a white stallion riding on a wooden raft in a rough seas with a brilliant sunset in the distance. Not presently framed.

Nahum Tschacbasov's works of art are represented in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Jewish Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Art, as well as numerous college and private collections.

Tschacbasov painted over a span of 50 years with many one man shows including ACA Gallery in New York City as well as Perls Gallery in New York. The artist lived for most of his life in the Chelsea Hotel as well as in East Hampton from 1971 til his death in 1984 at the age of 84.
