Studio Superego

Italian
The project Superego was born in 2003 within Movimento Moderno, a company working in design, decorative arts and antiques for several years. Through the co-operation with some of the most important Italian and international designers, Superego intends to create exclusive collections, in limited and numbered editions, of pottery and objects made in plexiglas or other materials.

In SUPEREGO we think of design as if it were a hot soup on a cold winter day. An ocean of sensations with emerging carrot orange colour, elastic hardness of harmonic steel, pea round shapes, Plexiglas fragrance, and on top of it all, the warmth of ceramics modified by art.

We, the SUPEREGO, had the fortune to grow up in a garden of the Italian design, listening to the noise of graphite wearing off on paper, enjoying the plastic touch of clay, sniffing the smell of casts that are yet to be fired, admiring the intensity of colours that sparkle on the final shapes.
We, the SUPEREGO, bring to life creations of the affirmed designers such as Alessandro Mendini, Andrea Branzi, Ugo La Pietra, Lino Sabattini, Maria Christina Hamel.
We, the SUPEREGO, are the protagonists of the ‘designer toy movement’, an artistic movement that unites emotional characteristics of a toy and the elements of design, illustrations of the pop and street culture, being the only company that produces ceramic ‘toys’ . Objects created by artists and designers coming from all the corners of the world, like Jeremy Fish, Massimo Giacon, Pixel Pancho, or BO130, produced in limited quantities in order to become true pieces of art.
We, the SUPEREGO, have an EGO that needs to be nurtured every day.
