OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
With an eye for understated elegance, an ear for our client’s needs and an attunement to the luxury of true comfort, our firm creates innovative solutions for both traditional and contemporary interiors. We believe in furniture that feels as good as it looks and that is designed to last. We insist on excellent craftsmanship, working in conjunction with only the finest drapery workrooms, cabinetmakers, upholsterers and restorers. We have developed a studio of remarkable decorative artists ranging from glazers and gilders to muralists, faux finishers and stencilers.
Our insistence on rooms that make architectural sense has led this firm to establish inspired collaborations with architects and contractors. A sensitivity to lighting infuses our rooms with a sense of dramatic flair as well as providing the practicality of suitable task illumination. We are known for an excellent sense of color, pattern and texture.
Although firmly based in classicism, we encourage our clients to express their individual vision. We celebrate rooms that are not only beautiful, but playful, uplifting, dramatic and above all, personal.
Located in New York City, we have the advantage of access to the finest antique dealers, the most up-to-date fabric houses, carpet resources and lighting manufacturers.

Marshall Watson

New York-based interior designer Marshall Watson is best-known for creating classic, light-filled and elegant interiors with a modern sensibility. Since founding his design firm in 1986, Watson has sought to immerse himself in a range of dynamic projects, no two of which are exactly alike.
Internationally recognized, his projects have spanned the globe, from Cabo to Stockholm and across the United States. Winner of Traditional Home’s “Designer of the Year” award and featured on Luxe’s 2017 Gold List, Watson’s work has been featured in numerous publications including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Veranda, Luxe, Cottages & Gardens and Traditional Home.
Watson has designed three best-selling furniture collections for Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman and is currently working on his fourth. He recently completed a line of couture outdoor carpets for Doris Leslie Blau. His current projects include a Napa Valley winery, an estate in St. Louis, a cottage in Northern Michigan and numerous places in and around New York City. Watson divides his time between his Upper West Side office and his home in East Hampton, and writes a bi-weekly column for the Southampton Press.
