    Tiny Federal inlaid dome-top trinket box
    Probably New Hampshire or southern Maine, circa 1815
    Figured birch veneer, mixed hardwood inlaid banding, old or original finish, engraving on paper, original brass wire hinges, 1 1/16 x 2 1/16 x 1 3/16 inches. This incredible box was fashioned with such finesse and extreme delicacy to be composed entirely from hardwood veneers and inlaid bandings, and lined with engraved paper depicting the Great Seal of the United States.
