Description
VERY LARGE CAULIFLOWER by JEAN-PAUL GOURDON
Decorated with surrounding leaves and a snail.
In white glazed and unglazed faïence.
HEIGHT: 24 cm (9½")
DIAMETER: 35 cm (13¾")
French artist Jean-Paul Gourdon born Marmande 1956.
This gifted artist works in the manner of the 18th century and makes beautiful “faience” (earthenware) life size fruit and vegetables inspired by his own vegetable garden in the south west of France. He chose to work in white because of it’s simplicity and it’s purity.
He was given the accolade “best French craftsman” in 1997 -
