If there was a design piece that would be the ultimate identifier of Paul McCobb’s signature motif, it would undoubtedly be this “Connoisseur Collection” Sideboard designed for Calvin Group. McCobb’s mastery of gentle proportions is evident throughout many details in this design. The three drawers are petite yet very generous in depth allowing for ample storage space. The large leather faced sliding panels allow access to a split shelf storage area which spans full width, perfect for media accessories or fragile wares. McCobb’s signature tapered legs are joined together by a gorgeous polished brass cross stretcher, a design risk that beautifully grounds this statement piece. Every decision McCobb made in his designs were with great intention and a piece of this nature is a perfect showcase for all the impressive details he is known for today.

Montage has expertly restored this piece ground up. The wood has been refinished in a rich satin dark walnut which is the perfect background for the pops of brass hardware. Each piece of hardware; pulls, edges, and cross stretcher have been polished up to look their best. Its original Calvin Group label is still intact giving credit to Paul McCobb for his timeless design.
