Signed dated, numbered 4/15 recto printed later, unframed, other sizes available
The photographer places a 7-inch yellow plastic ball in front of iconic church steeples. He is introducing a prop into the photography process. The graphic image is symmetrically balanced and composed of primary colors. It's a staged photo. The bold architectonic shapes of the church and bright yellow of the ball create an image that is a stylistic signature of its author.
Mitchell Funk is a "Color Photographer Pioneer". He was color when color wasn't considered art.
His early color work anticipates developments in color photography by generations.
In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek and Life Magazine among

As an undergrad in painting, he studied with great teachers such as first-generation abstract expressionist Robert Richenburg and hyper-realist painter Janet Fish. In Graduate School he worked with famed critic E.C. Goossen and went on to work as a Photographer, New York Advertising Art Director, and Art Collector.
