England c.1870.
Pair of Walnut Hall Seats / Benches/ Chairs in Typical Shoolbred fashion having Sabre Legs Joined by Four Stretchers.
James Shoolbred and Co. were well known manufacturers and retailers of furniture from the 19th Century with premises in Tottenham Court Road, London.
They were known for quality work in all styles, employing French and German upholsterers and leading English Designers. Their work has in the 20th Century become highly collectable especially with Aesthetic aficionados.
