Tall and elegant pair of solid mahogany Directoire-style bookcases or etageres, American, late 20th c. Custom designed for a particular project, these are unique and handmade by a cabinetmaker. Reeded supports, smart looking "X" braces at the sides, brass caps on the feet. The height at 96" is unusual, as is the depth at less than 11" - just right for books and even large art books fit on the shelves due to the open back. Each bookcase or etagere breaks into two pieces for ease of transport and installation. Please note: these items are currently stored off-site and can be viewed at the NYDC Gallery by request.
