Arne Jacobsen AJ Table Lamp in Stainless Steel for Louis Poulsen These lamps were designed in 1960 by Arne Jacobsen for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (Radisson Blu), and contributed to the total design concept of the hotel. Several of the hotels items have achieved iconic design status and among the lighting products the AJ lamps in particular have become world renowned. Executed in polished stainless steel and cast zinc Authorized re-edition. New in box with warranty. UL listed. Available in dark green, dark grey, aubergine, light grey, midnight blue, pale petroleum, rusty red, yellow ochre, black or white, wet painted. The fixture emits downward directed light. The angle of the shade can be adjusted to optimize light distribution. The shade is painted white on the inside to ensure a soft comfortable light. Please specify color when ordering. UL listed. All color finishes come with a 10 foot black cord except the white finish, which comes with a 10 foot white cord. On/off switch on base. In-stock lead time 2-3 weeks. Out of stock can take 6 weeks or more. Inventory can change at any time. For time sensitive orders, please inquire prior to purchasing. Please note that these must ship directly from Louis Poulsen's fulfillment warehouse in Florida, so 1stdibs shipping is not an available option. Arne Jacobsen was born and raised in Copenhagen. In 1927, he graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduating, he obtained his first job at the office of the City Architect of Copenhagen launching his own office only two years later. Arne Jacobsen is a world famous Danish modernistic architect and designer. Over the years, he ventured into various fields related to his work such as lighting, furniture, cutlery, door handles, sanitary fixtures, fabrics and wallpaper patterns. "The Egg" and "The Swan" are two famous chairs designed by Jacobsen.
