Cabinet or dresser featuring inset high-fired enamel-on-copper doors with a richly colored floral decorative motif. Dark mahogany case with brass pulls and sabots; white-lacquered interior drawer fronts. Solid secondary woods and dovetail joint construction in drawers. A rare and luxe production by Harvey Probber, circa 1962. Probber formed Harvey Probber, Inc in 1945 and became a leading furniture designer in America during the early modern, post-war period. Known for exceptional craftsmanship, Probber looked for unique artwork to incorporate into his designs. These jewelry enamel doors were made by an artist named Arpad Rosti. The abstract floral designs were influenced by the paintings and mural decorations of Henri Matisse. This piece is in unrestored condition and does show wear to the top and sides.

Origin: United States Period: 1950-1979 Materials: Brass, Enamel, Mahogany Condition: Good. This piece is in unrestored condition and does have wear to finish. The top has a lot of wear-see photos. The left side also show wear to the finish-refinishing is recommended. Enameled doors look great no chips and slide smoothly.
