  • Description
Cabinet or dresser featuring inset high-fired enamel-on-copper doors with a richly colored floral decorative motif. Dark mahogany case with brass pulls and sabots; white-lacquered interior drawer fronts. Solid secondary woods and dovetail joint construction in drawers. A rare and luxe production by Harvey Probber, circa 1962. Probber formed Harvey Probber, Inc in 1945 and became a leading furniture designer in America during the early modern, post-war period. Known for exceptional craftsmanship, Probber looked for unique artwork to incorporate into his designs. These jewelry enamel doors were made by an artist named Arpad Rosti.
