A modern Classic. An elegant Italian Mid-Century Modern 'Novecento' green glass standing lamp in the modern neoclassical spirit by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte composed of three columns of thick glass panels resting on a black lacquered base; each column has three panels of glass which enclosed a central brass shaft and is held together with bronzed brass bands. Documentation: Sotheby's 20th century decorative Arts, London, September 26, 2007, lot #258. for similar model. Christies, New York (see catalog entry in last photo below).
