Rare, unique pair of Italian early modernist armchairs attributed to Giacomo Balla. The chairs integrate futurist aesthetics with Arts & Crafts style.
The pieces utilize typical Arts & Crafts materials. They are in solid wood with large studded leather arms, back rests and seats and are fastened together with wood pins. Futurist design is seen in aero-dynamic arms which emphasize speed and dynamic movement and the seats, backrests and pins which are set on multiple intersecting planes.
