Description
A finely inlaid mahogany slatted urn on pedestal and tripod base. Polished brass semi-circular carrying loop, urn base trim, and interior conforming brass pot. For table-side wine service, holding up to three bottles. Alternative use today as a jardiniere. Slatted mahogany urns were also made in the early 19th century to serve as skein baskets, for knitting or needlework wool.

Five decades of antiques collecting experience in a succession of Historic Register homes in Virginia, New York, and Connecticut; and a 1901 beaux arts building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Open Thursday through Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment.
