Brutalist Wall Sculpture in Mixed Metals Brass Bronze Copper 1960 Stuart Mathews

Description
Mid-century modern Stuart Mathews Brutalist wall sculpture.
Stuart Mathews was a prolific sculptor who studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and Cranbrook in the 1950s. His work is characterized by his ability to combine a variety of different metals with intriguing abstract shapes and textures to create uniquely cohesive works of art that are as beautiful today as when they were first conceived.
A well composed abstract composition with a nice variety of materials and patinas. Can hang vertically or horizontal.
We have handled a number of his creations and this is a very good example of his mid-century modern 60s wall sculptures. -
