Mid Century Modern Abstract Expressionist Painting from Dallas Museum of Art XL

Description
A Monumental Abstract Masterpiece with a Storied Past
This striking large-scale abstract expressionist painting carries with it a remarkable history. In the 1960s, a dedicated Texas art teacher—who also taught classes at the Dallas Museum of Art—spotted the canvas protruding from a dumpster behind the museum. Recognizing its potential, she rescued it on the spot, securing it to the roof of her car and hanging it above the fireplace in her mid-century modern home where it was diplayed for the next 50 years.
Near her 98th birthday, she passed it on to me, and for the past 15 years, it has been the centerpiece of my living room. Now, due to space constraints, I must part with it. Despite extensive efforts, the artist remains unidentified.
Whether or not it proves to be a lost treasure of extraordinary value, its aesthetic power is undeniable. The dynamic composition, bold color palette, and commanding scale make it a showstopper—sure to captivate even the most discerning eye. -
