  • Description
Beautiful straight lined, rectilinear and unadorned neoclassical Biedermeier secrétaire / secretary / writing armoire or desk from Central Germany, circa 1830.

Finely chosen and continuously running and bookmatched walnut veneer. Hand polished with shellac (French polish).
Inside veneered in yew with black polished / ebonized writing surface. Ebonized key sockets and buttons.
Bottom compartment with two doors. Functioning old locks and three keys.

Secretaries were typical Biedermeier furniture, when the writing of letters became increasingly popular. The straight lined clear and modern shape of this piece of handmade furniture art, makes it ideally to combine with a modern interior.
