Pair of Vintage Venini Murano 'Reticello' Glass Sconces
-
Description
An elegant and rare pair of Venini Murano glass wall lights; the delicate opaline circular glass light is complemented at the top border with the precious reticello technique. The glass is supported by a ribbed brass base and wall support. "Reticello" is an Italian decorative glassblowing technique, developed by the Venini glassblowing company in Murano. It involves the merging of two cane bubbles (one inside the other) in which the straight canes were twisted in opposite directions. Once merged, the opposingly twisted canes cross each other creating a net like pattern.
Made by Venini, Murano, Italy dating from the 1930's.
Newly rewired for USA Standards.
Size: 6 1/4" high x 9 3/4" wide x 10" deep. -
