-
Description
This fine Modernism hollow aluminum and copper fish sculpture is by New York State artist Alex Kovacs. It is hand-made of oxidized aluminum, copper, steel, and driftwood in the Brutalist taste. It is signed and dated on a plaque: "Kovacs 1976".
Kovacs created his sculpture from hand-cut, hand-shaped, and soldered metals in the form of an angel fish with Lucite eyes, swimming through steel undersea branches, and it is mounted on an attractive piece of driftwood. The sculpture has a fine and pleasing patina. It is prefect for a table-top or a pedestal. -
