Description
Russian Neoclassical style clear and blue cut glass chandelier
Russian, 20th Century
Height 156cm, diameter 94cm
This superb Russian chandelier exemplifies the grace and elegance of the Russian Neoclassical style. The chandelier features ten S-scroll light branches, each crafted from clear cut glass. The branches issue from a parcel gilt cobalt blue dish, and each branch terminates in a blue glass drip pan and candle holder. The baluster shaped column of the chandelier is set with a further four blue dishes: three above of diminishing size, and one below. The dishes and branches throughout are profusely draped with cut glass pendants, droplets, and chains of facet cut beads. -
