Robert Marinelli is an accomplished American designer specializing in contemporary furniture, architectural renovations, and interior design.
Marinelli launched his first furniture collection in 1994 through showrooms in Washington, San Francisco, and London. In 2005, he opened his namesake gallery and interior design studio in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. One of the first visionaries to open a gallery / art space in the then undiscovered neighborhood, he showcased his modern furniture collection alongside a highly curated selection of lighting, objects, textiles, and art.
Conceived as functional sculptures that reject a monolithic aesthetic narrative, Marinelli’s furniture collections embrace an eclectic array of ideas reflecting his disparate artistic inspirations. Employing a vigorous, modernist vision, he designs contemporary furnishings that have a compelling vintage quality. Combining traditional craftsmanship with emerging technologies and techniques, he highlights the synergy between the materials and the finishes employed.
Created through an ever-evolving lens, Marinelli’s designs have expanded to over 100 works, including a limited-edition furniture collection that expresses bold variations of form and artful attention to detail. Marinelli’s work has been featured in leading print and digital publications including Architectural Digest, AD Pro, 1st dibs Introspective, Forbes, World of Interiors, Dwell, Elle Décor, Departures, Luxe and Wallpaper.
