Description
This is a superb pair of period Napoleon III Chauffeuses or Slipper Chairs that date to c. 1860-1875. The chairs feature arched back crests with tightly upholstered seats and backs. The chairs are newly upholstered in a high end Clarence House ribbed cut velvet with metallic highlighting to the fronts and a coordinating silk velvet blend to the backs. As with all of our upholstered pieces, the insides of the chairs have been refurbished with retied springs, new foam and padding. The brass casters are replacements. The second to last photos shows the chairs with a pair of c. 1920's Fortuny "Melagrana" pillows, which are sold separately.
