Luciano Frigerio was born in Desio in 1928. He completed his technical-administrative studies cultivating two great passions since his adolescence: furniture design and music composition.
The socio-economic reality of Brianza offered in those years strong entrepreneurial possibilities in the art of furniture designing. Texts and magazines about furniture he got delivered from the United States since the 60s, the association with prestigious Canturese workshops where he often met fugures such as Gio Ponti, Franco Albini, Carlo De Carli and Tapio Wirkkala, transformed his family business into a company that looked to the international market. A team of technicians who worked closely with Frigerio helped him realize his dream: furniture as a unique piece, made by combining and adding together all possible materials of excellence.
Over the years, Frigerio started collaborating with some famous Italian architects and designers including Franco Albini, Sergio Asti and later Paolo Portoghesi. Luciano Frigerio asked them to design furniture that could be created in his workshop with handcrafted specifications with the belief that an architect could design a piece of furniture as a unique piece and not just furniture for industrial production. This philosophy led the company from the 1970s to the 1990s to the opening of ten showrooms in all the major Italian cities.
