Description
'Tatami' Rug by Ariadna Miquel and Nani Marquina for Nanimarquina.
These hand-loomed dhurrie rugs executed in 50% New Zealand wool and 50% jute draw their inspiration from traditional Japanese straw tatamis. Expertly crafted in India, the commingling of the two fibers create a mesmerizing combination that shines while also being soft to the touch.
An Industrial Design graduate from Elisava School of Design in Barcelona, Miquel’s passion for textiles and her curiosity about production techniques allow her to create innovative textures, while experimenting with color application. The addition of Marquina's long-standing expertise distinguishes this series immaculately.
Price is per item. Available in unlimited quantities in two standard sizes and in choice of black, purple, yellow, or indigo. This listing is for the smaller sized rug. Please specify size and color when ordering. Custom sizing available upon request for an additional fee and with extended lead times possible.
In-stock lead time 2-3 weeks. Out of stock or custom sizing can add additional 11 weeks or more. Stock availability is subject to change at any time. Please inquire for current lead times for time-sensitive orders.
Please note that due to the organic and handmade nature of this fiber some variation in color may occur from piece to piece, which may become further pronounced with prolonged exposure to sunlight. Only one representative example is featured in the images.
Also note this item must ship directly from Nanimarquina’s fulfillment center, so buyer arranged shipping or local pick-up are not an option. Shipping cost quoted is per item and cannot be combined.
Made to order. All sales are final. -
