Chrome Banded Bar Stools in Smoked Pewter Velvet, Manner of Milo Baughman

Description
This stunning pair of Mid Century Modern bar stools were realized in the United States during the latter half of the 20th century. Designed in the manner of Milo Baughman- one of the most interesting and influential practitioners of late modernist design- they feature demilune polished chrome bases that meet the rectangular supports at right angles ascending upwards where they meet the bullet form seats circumscribed in lustrous chrome. Inspired by Art Deco design (see the streamlined forms juxtaposed with sharp geometric lines) but clearly updated for modern (and postmodern) interiors, these bar stools are as versatile as they are aesthetically compelling. They would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. They have been newly reupholstered in an elegant smoked pewter velvet and are in excellent vintage condition.
