Pair of large Rococo revival giltwood mirrors
French, Late 19th Century
Height 187/191cm, width 98cm, depth 11cm
In a restrained, simple, yet elegant and charming Rococo revival style, this pair of large giltwood mirrors was made in France in the late nineteenth century. In a pier structure with an arched rectangular form, they are surmounted above with a floral swagged, overhanging, cartouche, beaded and C and acanthus scrolled crest. The design otherwise is simple, with the quality of construction allowed to attest to the mirror's fine craftsmanship. Superb pieces of antique decoration, these fine mirrors will be suitable to any grand, and fine modern interior. -
