    Carl Lasch (1822-1888 German) "The Walk Back Home" A Monumental Exhibition Painting, Oil on canvas laid to masonite in original gilt-wood frame.

    This monument painting is the artists largest and most important work known to date. It depicts a large family walking back home from their day in the fields. Every detail of this painting is delightful, the more you look into it, the more you truly enjoy. The painting is housed in it's original, elaborate gilt-wood frame. Signed C. Lasch Dusseldorf (lower left).

    Canvas: 55" high x 68" wide.
    Frame: 72" high x 84" wide

    In overall very good condition, with no damages noted. Ready to hang.
    Please note this needs to be hung on an appropriate wall due to the weight of the frame which is over 200 pounds. There are minor scratches and scattered fine flecks of white paint. Minor areas of craquelure.

    Carl Johann Lasch (July 1, 1822 in Leipzig – August 28, 1888 in Moscow) was a German artist of historical paintings. He was born in Leipzig. He attended the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. One of his teachers was Eduard Bendemann. He later attended the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. There he studied under Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld and Wilhelm von Kaulbach.
