A large abstract oil on board by Merton D. Simpson (Am., 1928 - 2013).
Untitled. Signed front right corner "MDS" dated '83.
Simpson, originally from the Carolinas, lived in New your City. He was part of the "New York School" in the 1950's-1960's.
He later had his own gallery on 28th Street, selling modern and tribal art.
