Oil on canvas.
10” x 12”, 15 ¼” x 17” with frame.
Excellent condition, in a custom carved, gilt frame.
Provenance: Howard Godel Fine Arts, New York; Private Collection.
Herman Herkomer was born in Cleveland, Ohio and travelled to study in Paris, London and Munich.
He earned great respect in Europe for his portrait painting of prominent people. This is a rare and unique work for Herkomer painting himself inside his studio. -
