Description
A pair of heavy gauge black wrought iron Art Deco andirons. Unique design having roundels with horsemen filigree casting inside dodecagon (12 sided) surrounds on tapering shafts over arched legs with distinctive sunburst decoration. One andiron with jousting horsemen and the other with mounted swordsmen. Both roundels are on a hinged pivot allowing them to be folded back flat for a now unknown purpose. Substantial and interesting. In gloss black finish. New York, circa 1930.
