Description
Prominent figures in Japanese folklore. The Chinese poet-sage Kanzan is depicted with his scroll, and the Daoist sage Jittoku with his broom. Painting bears two seals of Nakanuma Shokado (1584-1639) reading "Seiseio" and Shojo". Nihonga School painting in ink and powdered gold on paper with silk brocade border. Early Meiji period (1868 - 1912).
