Description
PH5 pendant by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen in blue and grey, Denmark
This very famous pendant by Poul Henningsen consists of various layers of aluminium in the colors grey and blue. The rounded forms and different widths create a beautiful shadow play. Most light falls downwards, but also horizontally there is a playful light fall. This makes that the lamp shines on itself and this creates a warm glow in the room.
The mother of Poul Henningsen was allergic for direct light so her son tried to create a lamp where the light bulb would never be visible. You can find this in all of his designs, from the Charlottenborg to the Artichoke.
The pendant is in an excellent condition and it has minor traces of use. The lamp is in working condition and ready for use. -
