“Lightwell number 2” (120 X 100cm). A work of powerfully directed light of blazing intensity. Warm purples over cool evening blues build toward a focus of energy along the vertical axis. (The fishing boat, straddling this axis, seems to act like a lens, pulling the sunlight straight downwards). Julian is deeply concerned with effects of this type. Atmosphere is a watchword.
