A French Louis XVI style carved and painted bergère à oreilles circa 1860 featuring charming details and vintage upholstery. Elegant and eye-catching this chair is as much a conversation piece as it is a comfortable seat. The bergère’s upper rail flaunts carvings of lambs tongue patterns, gold gilt and edged in deep green paint. Accented with acanthus leaves, rosettes, and petite beads that add an element of sophistication and are a representation of classic French craftsmanship. The comfortable cushion and back are covered in a vintage ecru silk fabric with raised dots throughout. Four fluted and tapered legs provide a sturdy and stylish base.
