Description
A wonderful and extremely rare last quarter 19th century Chinese export for the Anglo-Indian market reverse glass portrait painting of an opium-smoking 'maiden' or young lady painted in oval and sat in an interior with a 'stem' in her upraised right hand and a pipe held in her left hand with arm resting on a table with mountain scenery and tree view outside of window surrounded by polychrome painted floral and foliate border field designs, housed in original carved giltwood frame with 'meander' or 'Greek key' fillet and original molded backboards with 20th-century painted museum collection numbers.
