Description
This is a superb set of George III Dining Chairs after a model by George Hepplewhite. The two arm chairs and four of the side chairs date to the late 18th century. Two of the side chairs are of a later date. All eight chairs are in very good overall condition with an old surface. The mahogany has acquired just the right tone over the chairs' 200 plus years of use. A set of eight chairs in this excellent condition is an uncommon find. These chairs are currently being upholstered in a Clarence House linen velvet; the seat cushion filler will be replaced with new foam., the old frames have been retained.
