Large 18th Century Italian Baroque Candlestick

A large Italian Baroque candlestick, hand carved wood with applied gesso and polyhrome paint in green and red, dating to the mid 18th century. The pricket gilt candle plate can hold a candle up to 14cm in diameter.

Over time the wood halfway up the candlestick has become warped so leans slightly to one side, this has no effect on its usefulness as a candle holder, if anything it makes the whole piece feel more charming.

A great looking item in very attractive polychrome colours.

Brass Plate is 14cm diameter (internal size)

Iron Pricket is 5.5cm Tall
