Description
A French restoration period early 19th century walnut vaisselier from the Bressan region with bonnet crest, molded doors with burl wood inset panels and multiple shelves. Born in the eastern area of France during the first quarter of the 19th century, this walnut vaisselier features a large molded cornice 'en chapeau de gendarme', sitting above a narrow upper cabinet, comprising two doors with molded burl wood panels, flanking a central section with open shelves. The exquisite volutes that adorn the structure are delicately accented with shell and floral motifs. The lower section of the cabinet is made of a large buffet with three drawers sitting above three doors. Echoing the motifs from the upper section, the molded panels attract the eye with their lighter burl wood panels and open to reveal two inner shelves. The ensemble is raised on four feet, the front ones being scrolled and connected to one another through a beautifully scalloped skirt adorned with shell motifs. With its great proportions, graceful silhouette and lovely patina, this French Bressan restauration vaisselier, circa 1820 will bring a touch of elegance to any room, particularly in a dining room.
