Description
Ornamental accents give this Provincial oak buffet a uniquely charming personality. Hand-crafted in France in the 1800s, the silhouette is simple, providing ample space to store the humble items of a country household. The deep relief of the paneling lends the solid form an air of majesty; carved quatrefoils provide a Neo-gothic touch. The ironwork of the original hinges and pendant handles which adorn the upper drawers is both decorative and robust. Through careful restoration, the surface of the oak has been returned to its organic finish — a pale barley hue, which lends a homey quality to the dignified design.
