Description
Absolutely rare Loetz Witwe glass vase designed by Hans Hofstoetter for the Paris World Expo in 1900. The vases for the Paris World Exhibition are among the most sought-after pieces when it comes to collecting pieces from Loetz. The decoration Phenomen Genre 358 (PN 85/3863) was designed by Franz Hofstötter and first shown at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900, where it has been also awarded with the Grand Prix, the highest award for craftsmanship in this renown period. The lower part of this small, incredible looking vase shows dark brown layers combined with silver threads. The highly iriscident middle part reminds of an opal shimmering in gorgeous silver, light blue and purple tones. The top of the vessel is adorned by orange/red and silver bands that have been pulled downwards. An absolute rarity and unique Loetz collector´s vase in breathtaking original condition.
