A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood console table from the early 20th century, with carved frieze, rosettes, fluted legs and X-Form cross stretcher. Created in Sweden at the Turn of the Century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th, this Gustavian style console table features a rectangular top sitting above a carved frieze running along the four sides. The table is raised on four fluted legs adorned with carved rosettes on the knees and connected to one another through an X-Form cross stretcher accented with a small fluted panel in its center. The table is painted in a soft color typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark Scandinavian winters.
