Description
A pair of French Directoire period walnut side chairs from the early 19th century, with out-scrolling backs, carved stag splats, rush seats and small cushions. We currently have three pairs available, priced and sold $1,750 per pair. Created in France during the very beginning of the 19th century, each of this pair of Directoire side chairs features a delicately out-scrolling back adorned with a beautifully carved stag surrounded by a tree branch on the splat. Presenting rush seats, the chairs each comprise of a thin used peach colored cushion in fair condition. The ensemble is raised on four legs, turned in the front and saber in the back, connected to one another through an H-Form cross stretcher with spindle motif in the front.
