Description
Rooftop view of the upper West Side Manhattan as it looked in the 1930s. There is a rough indication of a billboard and a glimpse of the Hudson River. The cluster of buildings depicted function both as representation and abstraction painting. Signed lower right, Framed behind glass. The medium appears to be a mix of gouache and oil or perhaps some mixed media unique to the artist. There is some impasto evident. The work is best view under top gallery lighting to bring out color and detail
