Description
A rare glass mirror with a stunning blue bevel designed by Pietro Chiesa for Luigi Fontana & C., Italy, c.1940. The exquisite blue colour of the cut and champered bevel really highlights the tapered shape and gentle curves of mirror. The mirror's wooden frame is black-painted around its edge and it retains its original triangular paper label on the reverse , 'Galvanit Fontana, Italy'. Luigi Fontana, along with Gio Ponti and Pietro Chiesa, founded the world renowned Milanese glass company, Fontana Arte. A beautiful example of an early mid-century design classic
