Mid Century Modern Three-Tier Glass Chandelier by Rupert Nikoll, Austria 1950s
-
Description
Extraordinary, pretty rare 20th century three-tier glass chandelier made in Vienna/ Austria by the renowed company of Rupert Nikoll around the late 1950s. The Rupert Nikoll lighting company’s biggest claim to glory came from producing work by the skilled Austrian jeweler and lighting designer Emil Stejnar. He designed several lighting and mirror pieces for the Austrian company. Stejnar had a penchant for symmetrical, rounded forms, often emulating starbursts or floral blossoms in his designs. This modern, elaborately crafted mid century chandelier impresses with three different sized rings/ tiers, all adorned by artfully textured, very thick glass elements which confer this chandelier an absolute outstanding look. The seperate installed glass elements, which can be easily changed by just sliding them in/out (see picture #19), create really amazing patterns of light and shadow. An exceptional piece of Rupert Nikoll lightning from the mid century period in Austria, coming in great original condition. We have additionally added 6 extra glass elements for replacement - just in case:)
