This striking and geometrically intricate Art Deco Linear Cubist Molded & Frosted Glass Chandelier signed EJG by Etablissement Jean Gauthier originates from France, Circa 1930. The prices features a square shaped bottom shade with illustrious geometric cubist detailing, expanding tiers of triangular shapes dance across the surface with grooved and hatched detailing rendered in the molded and frosted glass, dazzling the senses and accenting the outer forms of the shade. Above the bottom shade supported by the frame of nickel, also adorned with geometric linear detailing, rise four triangular protruding shades enhancing the scale and presence of the piece. Four downward facing shades extend with bulbs casting light downwards and giving a sense of classical gravity to the fixture. Supported from a stylized series of four rods rising from the center of the fixture, leading to a canopy also sharing the stylistic detailing of the remainder of the piece. Signed EJG, indicating creation by the Etablissement Jean Gauthier, a french Art Deco lighting manufacturer from the Art Deco era known for their innovative and striking designs and material construction. A wonderful example of lighting from the Art Deco Era, this chandelier will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century and Contemporary Interiors. Newly rewired to American standards with height that can be adjusted to suit. In Excellent Vintage Condition. Accommodates 9 Candelabra based bulbs offering 540 watts of light.
