Description
Against popular belief, there really are little green men in New York City. Street Photographer Mitchell Funk, isolates an urban art wall painting in the looming above a park with people mulling around. It's a striking composition as with the central figure framed between windows. A small American flag flies out from a window sill. Mitchell Funk pushes the boundaries of picture-making by elevating common locations to a powerful graphic images . Funk is an abstractionist while being a documentarian. Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek, Fortune, New York Magazine and Life Magazine among others - The work is signed, numbered 2/15, dated lower right recto, printed later. Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed, printed later and this work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper.
